Why can't I open an order? Buy and sell buttons are not active in the new order window

Trying to open a new order on MT4, if the "Buy" or "Sell" buttons are inactive, it is likely due to one of these problems:

  • Your Internet Connection

Please ensure that your internet connection is operating correctly.

  • The Type of Login Credentials Used

MT4 has two password options: the "Master Password" and the "Investor Password." While the Investor Password only allows read-only access, the Master Password provides complete account access and allows trade placement. Logging in with the Investor Password restricts the trading capability, leading to inactive buttons.
